An unexpected journey for us began in the month of May when we decided to add corporate gifting to our portfolio of service sector businesses which range from Corporate legal advisory to insolvency and bankruptcy and valuations to business plans and due diligence.
After traveling across India, we shortlisted about 200 suppliers thoroughly quality checked and reliable to get the best of the gifting solutions for you.
Inspite of the fact that we just started, clients were receptive of our suggestions and research about the best products and subsequent brand building through the use of suitable products.
The major challenge that we faced for corporate gifting was the budgets, considering the negative business sentiment in India and the recession-like atmosphere.
This severely impacted the choice of gifts and the margins as well as luxury products were seen as less receptive.
Major products that we sold were:
- Electronics (Power banks, portable chargers, 3D Lamps etc)
- Wooden gifting articles and dining table sets
- Premium Chocolates and confectionaries
- Leather products like tea coasters, wallets, passport holders
- Plastics like barware, tumbler sets
- Hand Made Diaries
- Silverwares
- Metal Decorative articles like Votives, Lamps Etc.
Our much anticipated and favorite Premium Tea and healthy food products found no clients. Over 6 suppliers of various varieties of tea and fancy packaging and about 8 healthy snack products suppliers, unfortunately, got no buyers. Overall Tea was looked upon as a luxury product and found less inclination from current set of clients.
Budget wise Rs 500-1000 found most buyers in professionals and Rs.1000-5000 in big corporates.
It has been a great learning experience so far and we hope the coming seasons will be as fruitful as the first one for us.
